NCR EPE (Eastern Peripheral Expressway)

The 6 lane Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) was built in a record of 500 days against a targeted 910 days. The Expressway connects Kundli to Palwal via Ghaziabad. A solar powered, greenfield expressway, EPE not only decongests Delhi and reduce vehicular pollution by 27%, but is also a green, smart, safe and efficient drive for lakhs of commuters travelling from/to/through National Capital Region (NCR). A fully access controlled engineering marvel, with cement concrete roads, a 120 km/hr speed limit, world class toll plazas, fountains, replica of monuments, 2.5 lakh median plantations, drip irrigation system, major bridges and more, EPE is a new expressway experience for India. EPE has been dedicated to the Nation by the Hon. Prime Minister on 27th May 2018.

Indian Highway Concessions Trust, IHCT, participated in the Bid process for the Toll Operate Transfer (TOT) Bundle 7 bid and secured this Concession for a 20 year period. NCR Eastern Peripheral Expressway Private Limited (NCREPE) is the SPV formed for managing this asset and Maple Highways platform will bring in best-in-class systems, processes and state of the art in asset management to this asset, to remain true to the DNA of this marquee project. A long term tie up with France based Egis Roads O&M is just one of many efforts towards this.

Due to the unique positioning of this asset as a peripheral road skirting the NCR, this link serves as evacuation route to several Industrial and Infrastructure activities like IT/ ITES, Electronics, Agro-based, Cement & Ceramic Industries in the East, Textiles, Automobile & Ancillary Manufacturing, Agro-Processing etc along the west, etc. In addition, NCR region along with satellite cities is home to about 40Mn residents, who use the asset as a quicker exit route rather than navigating congested streets of the NCR region. EPE is also slated to be the major exit artery for proposed Jewar Airport at Noida and towards this additional interchanges are being constructed on the asset.
